About the Event

Get ready to laugh, learn, and take your improvisational skills to the next level with this 6-week intermediate improv class for adults, ages 18 and up! Our experienced instructors are excited to guide you through a series of fun and challenging exercises and games that will help you develop your improvisational skills and creativity. Whether you're a seasoned performer or a beginner looking to try something new, this course will provide you with the tools and techniques you need to take your comedy game to the next level. So, grab your friends, family, or come solo, and get ready to unleash your inner comedian!

In this course, you will work with our experienced instructors to develop your improvisation skills through a variety of exercises and games, culminating in a final improv comedy show for friends and family. Whether you're an aspiring comedian, performer, or just looking for a fun and creative outlet, this course is perfect for you!

Classes will take place once a week, starting on January 17th and running through February 21st, 2024. On the final week, we will open the classroom up to friends and family of the attendees, and perform a full improv comedy show!

Requirements: No prior experience necessary but some basic improv experience is recommended. Comfortable clothing that allows for movement and comfortable shoes are also recommended.

• Week 3: Scene Work

• Week 4: Advanced Techniques

• Week 5: Genre and Style

• Week 6: Final Performance

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:

Neil Mulac (Owner, Everything Cinema Productions) is a professional actor, filmmaker, writer, and educator. He is an alumnus of the University of Louisville, where he studied Theatre and English. Neil has appeared in numerous plays, music videos, commercials, and film and television projects, including Hallmark's An Uncommon Grace, Paramount Plus's Mayor of Kingstown, award-winning short film Like Fiction, and the upcoming BET movie Dance For Me. Neil is also a founding member of the long-running comedy improv troupe, The Indicators, performing at many festivals and touring comedy clubs across the US. He has also co-hosted and instructed diverse acting classes and workshops, including Improv for Beginners, Audition Self-Taping for Beginners, Accessing Emotions, Intro to Commercial Voice-Over, Summer Comedy Camp, and more!

Sarah East (Owner, The Audition Room 502) is a working actress, casting director, and member of the Screen Actors Guild. She's worked as an Audition Coordinator and Acting Coach with the area's largest talent agency and production companies for almost a decade, learning the casting process from the inside out. After graduating from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2005, Sarah spent time in New York City performing sketch comedy and improv before moving to Louisville, where she's grown her theatrical and on-camera resume to include nearly 100 Co-Star, Spokesperson, and Principal credits in film/tv, commercial, and live shows. Sarah's work as a private acting coach has been credited with helping students and adults book on-camera roles in box office feature films, TV shows, and commercials.
